THE GORGON HEAD

 

Silence…

Brain waves leap in guileful bounds

The earth rumbles and shakes

My worst fear begins to slowly awake

Air escapes from the lungs

The progeny gasps and pangs

Silence…

Master of the universe calls my name

The mystic gorgon calls my name

Silence

I must now choose

Silence…

Blood stifles and strangles

The witches of the night are out to maim me

Claim me for one of their own

Bath me in their worn out ghastly robes

Torn out silence

Tone down the imminent

Subterfuge

Seek refuge

Trek and refuse

Rebuke and retaliate

Sub-standard echoes ring in the matrix of the soul

Deadening decadence now fills my eardrum

The incense of malice has been unleashed

Machinations begin to grind and clasp

Intrinsic chalices are at a distance cast

The goaling post winks and stares at my shadow

The earth leaps out from its hole

And the gorgon head now dares me to stare
